Workshop: New innovative design principles for involvement of frail and impaired older people in development and implementation of health technology

The aim of the workshop is together with participants, discuss and develop new principles for design of health technology-, and services for older people with physical or mental impairments.
We will share knowledge and data from a research project between EU and Canada and further develop design guidelines to involve older people in the design and implementation of health technology.
Two themes are addressed 1) inclusion and stratification of users using the ‘Readiness and Enablement index for Health Technology (READHY) and 2) how the ‘Epital Care Model’ can inform horizontal and vertical infrastructure in the development of an ecosystem

Learning objectives:
  • Identify various user profiles/ technology readiness levels, using the READHY instrument
  • Be able to involve frail and impaired older people with various user profiles / technology readiness level in a design process
  • Be able to apply the ECM model can assist in an implementation process
Workshop: Will artificial intelligence in healthcare bring about a Gutenberg moment? Revolutionising the industry & the people in it

A Gutenberg moment is one which changes how we produce and consume information as dramatically as Gutenberg’s machine did. We will explore the idea that the combination of data and artificial intelligence (AI) will bring about such step change in the healthcare industry, and that the change is upon us.
We will hear from field practitioners who are already applying advanced data and AI techniques to solve healthcare problems. This workshop will be pragmatic, deliberately provocative and boundary breaking to explore how and where we can augment humans with powerful data tools to solve common problems – both clinical and operational.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand artificial intelligence (AI) & advanced data techniques applicable to healthcare e.g. natural language processing (NLP)
  • Learn how data and AI is solving business problems in industry broadly and major trends
  • Learn about actual applications and initiatives in healthcare – the challenges and the opportunities
  • Develop a better understanding of how data & AI might be applied in healthcare in ANZ

Biography

I have a track record of excellence in the area of pedagogy and didactics and in Health informatics and innovation as well as a track record in eHealth and Health literacy as well as active involvement in the development of a digital platform to support person centered healthcare. My main research interest lies in the field of health informatics and personalized health (pHealth) based on a broad experience both in the clinical and educational area as well as implementation of e-learning systems coming from a background as both board certified specialist in Internal Medicine and as leader of two different centers in the area of Educational Development and Web Based Learning in the period 2002-2009 at the University of Copenhagen.
