Biography

Rachel Dunscombe is AI Council member for the UK government and Visiting Professor at Imperial College London, UK, Co-chair of OpenEHR CiC and Chief Industry Advisor of the global health software company Dedalus,. She has over 25 years’ experience in the UK National Health Service (NHS), academia, management consulting, and the technology industry. Rachel was previously Chief Executive Officer of the NHS Digital Academy, leading postgraduate education programs both nationally and internationally, and the National Care Alliance Director of Digital and Group Chief Information Officer at the Royal Salford NHS Hospital in Greater Manchester, UK, where she implemented data science and AI approaches to health and wellbeing. Recently she led the KLAS Research Arch Collaborative International initiative for electronic health record optimization and supported the ‘Big 4’, consulting in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Europe, and low–middle income countries. Rachel is also Health Lead for the UK government’s artificial intelligence roadmap and contributed to policy including the UK AI strategy.

Biography

Dr Monica Trujillo is Telstra Health’s Chief Health Officer, a role which focusses on bringing digital capabilities together to support customers solving complex problems in health and aged care sectors across Australia and the wider international markets. Dr Trujillo has global expertise and, prior to joining Telstra Health, was Senior Director, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Clinical Information Officer at Cerner Australia and Asia Pacific. As a digital health advocate and enthusiast focused on improving quality outcomes through the adoption of technology, she brings a unique range of skills built on more than 20 years of experience across different areas in the health industry and wider eco-system. With a background in medicine, executive roles and clinical informatics, Monica has been at the forefront of delivering outcomes that break barriers to promote technology, better care and active community collaboration. Prior to her role with Cerner, she was the inaugural Chief Clinical Information Officer at the Australian Digital Health Agency responsible for clinical, consumer engagement and clinical governance leading the clinical programs establishment as well as the development of the clinical governance and stakeholder engagement framework whilst also overseeing the engagement process for the National Digital Health Strategy. Dr Trujillo is currently a Board Member at the Australian Institute of Digital Health, Australia’s peak body for digital health. She obtained her degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1998, holds a Master of Public Health, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Digital Health, and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management. She is a well-known advocate on fully and effectively engaging clinicians and consumers in the design, implementation, and sustainability of digital health solutions, in order to bring about high quality and safety outcomes.

Biography

Dr Louise Schaper is an innovator and a change agent who doesn’t sit still and whose passion and enthusiasm for digital health and health informatics is contributing to shaping the future of Australian healthcare. Her appointment as CEO came on the back of 10+ years of experience in, and applied passion for, health informatics. With a background as an occupational therapist and a PhD on technology acceptance amongst healthcare professionals, Louise is a world leader in allied health informatics and is intimately connected to Australia’s substantial health reform efforts, where digital health is a key enabler to achieving high quality, safe, sustainable and patient-centred care. In addition to her leadership of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health, Louise was on the Advisory Board for Stanford Medicine X 2013  conference, was part of the Australian Digital Health Agency’s Clinical Leads team and previously chaired the E-Health International Advisory Group of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.

Biography

Aisha Hasan is a leader for health information technology [IT] policy and management with over 14 years of experience in health care, health IT, policy, government, and business. Ms. Hasan serves as the Head of Global Health IT at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT [ONC], a staff division in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services [HHS]. Ms. Hasan directs ONC’s global health IT efforts and projects, and leads the agency’s digital health international strategy; bi-lateral and multi-lateral engagements; programs; investments; and partner relationships. She represents the US’ health IT policies, strategy, and standards equities in multi-lateral engagements with the US government, countries, territories, and multi-national alliances and international organizations. Prior to her Head of Global Health IT position at ONC, Ms. Hasan worked as a health team Senior Advisor at Apple, Inc. At ONC, she served as the Deputy Division Director leading ONC’s Congressional affairs, finance, and human capital, and as the Senior Advisor to the National Coordinator for Health IT. She has worked in the HHS Immediate Office of the Secretary, National Institutes of Health, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. She also served at the White House Office of Management and Budget, and the Vice President of the United States’ Office of Domestic and Economic Policy. Ms. Hasan earned her Master of Business Administration [MBA] in the top five percent of her class, focusing on strategic management and health IT, from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. She is also a Project Management Institute certified Project Management Professional [PMP] and a Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master [CSM]. Ms. Hasan earned her Bachelor of Science cum laude in Community Health, focusing on health policy, from the University of Maryland, College Park School of Public Health.
