Dr Kharko is a healthcare researcher at Uppsala University with a range of research interests centred around the goal of improving health and healthcare. Some of her key work is on patient access to health records, clinical education, as well as pain processing and evaluations of pain interventions through meta-analyses.

Katsuki Okada is associate professor of department of medical Informatics, Osaka University. He conducts research using Japanese administrative claims database and research on medical information systems. He is also a cardiologist and has a career as an administrative officer at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan.

John Chelsom is Director of the Applied Health Informatics program at Fordham University, having worked for over 30 years in the field of Health Informatics. He is the architect and lead developer of cityEHR – an open source, ontology-based health records system, engineered using open standards, interfaces and development practices.
