Biography

Dr Hugo Leroux is a Research Scientist within the Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC), a part of CSIRO’s Health & Biosecurity Business Unit. Hugo has expertise in data integration and semantic interoperability of clinical, research and pathology data. His work has applied semantic technologies to integrate ontological information with clinical data in order to expedite querying, reasoning and visualisation techniques exposing the meaning and utility of the clinical data that is applied to biomarker and drug discovery in medicine.

Cathy has been a Senior Terminologist at SNOMED International since 2014. Prior to this she worked with SNOMED CT-AU at the Australian National Release Centre. Cathy has a BASc in Health Information Management and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health as well as qualifications and experience in general nursing.

Biography

Dion McMurtrie is a Principal Research Consultant focussing on interoperability, analytics, and clinical terminology technology at the Australian e-Health Research Centre, where he leads the FHIR and Terminology Tooling Team in the Health Informatics Group. Through strong engagement with international standards bodies since 2008, and his lead technical role at the Australian National Clinical Terminology Service 2007-2019, Dion has obtained deep expertise in Clinical Terminology, particularly SNOMED CT and medicines terminologies, and HL7's FHIR terminology services. Dion received SNOMED International’s Award for Excellence in 2012 and has been actively engaged with international standards bodies since 2008.

Hisashi Osanai is a Senior Development Manager of Fujitsu. Hisashi was faced with the reality that the data in medical institute was not well maintained and difficult to utilize. Therefore, Hisashi is currently working on standardization of medical data through FHIR and belongs to FHIR Japanese implementation research working group.
