Biography

Affiliate Assoc Prof Cooper is an accomplished digital health and health information management expert with a diverse background in medical research, digital health, organization change, bioinformatics, and tertiary education. He is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and excels in engaging effectively with stakeholders from government, education, and private sectors. He actively participates in several health areas relating to Australia's ageing society and digital divide, providing guidance on Telehealth, AI in Healthcare, Workplaces of the Future, and Virtual Healthcare research. He serves on the St. Vincent's Healthcare Human Research Ethics Committee as well as boards and advisory committees on health, education and biotechnology. He is currently serving as a sessional Unit Chair (School of Medicine) and a Senior Research Fellow with the Deakin University Institute for Health Transformation where one of his current interests is increasing the pace of digital transformation in Australian healthcare and reducing the impact of the digital divide on Australia's ageing society.

Biography

Jen has been employed in the health service industry for nearly 50 years in clinical, educative and managerial roles, starting as an Emergency Department nurse, moving to academic roles in Schools of Nursing and universities, and holding managerial positions at a state and national level. She has been involved in health digitisation for the last 25 years, clearly appreciating how technology can influence patient outcomes and service delivery efficiency in the complex healthcare environment. She has co-authored several chapters addressing health informatics in nursing texts, presented at several state, national, and international nursing conferences on digital health aspects, and is currently involved in two large international activities addressing health digitisation and what that means for nurses and midwives. Jen is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health and the Australian College of Nursing, an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, a Certified Health Informatician Australasia, and a Certified Health Manager.
