Workshop: Extended reality learning: Experience the new frontier of healthcare education
Experience the power and effectiveness of extended reality healthcare education. Join our team of senior clinician educators and digital innovators as we use Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to transport healthcare learners into the metaverse. Workshop participants can use an established VR software platform to participate in a live facilitated, simulation-based learning session. The immersive and interactive environment uses contextual, case-based approaches to improve engagement and learning outcomes of physiological principles and patient assessments for common clinical presentations.
Learning objectives:- Become familiar with VR and XR as platforms for medical education
- Experience VR and XR learning
- Identify a broad range of contexts for the application of a novel, effective, highly accessible and economical alternative to traditional healthcare education

Bradley is a globally recognized VR Evangelist, Nurse Educator, Education Disruptor, and Researcher. He has won numerous awards, including the 2019 Hayden Vanguard Lectureship Award from INACLS and being shortlisted as a finalist in the 2020 Commonwealth Medical Association Digital Health Awards.
With over a decade of experience in acute tertiary intensive care nursing and remote medicine, Bradley has deployed to some of the most challenging locations worldwide, including Mosul, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mexico, Norway, and Papua New Guinea, where he is registered as a nurse. He has a proven track record of working under stressful conditions and managing critical clinical situations.
